Q: Where are the classes meeting?
A: See  Dates and Locations

Q: Who will teach the classes?
A: Professors and missionaries from all over the country in addition to local speakers, all of whom are
highly qualified in their subject areas. See  Speaker List

Q: How often does the class meet?
A: Once a week for three hours at the designated location.

Q: If I can not make a particular class session, can I make it up at one of the other locations?
A: Yes! You should let your class coordinator know. If it will be a regular occurrence, coordinators at
each location should be informed so that your name would be switched to the appropriate class.

Q: What is required in terms of assignments if I take the class for credit? How many hours will I
      need to study?
A: The amount of time you spend will vary depending on how fast you read and how much effort you
put into mastering the material; generally between 2 and 8 hours outside of class/week. Credit
students will need to complete the reading and weekly open book 'quizzes', take 3 multiple
choice/short essay, take-home, closed book, exams, and complete a minor and major project. For
     other questions, see the Syllabus.

Q: What is the difference between Credit, Certificate, and Audit?
A: The requirements for credit students are listed above. Certificate students will do the same as credit
students except they do NOT have to complete a major project. Audit students are encouraged to
keep up with the readings but are not required to do so.

Q: How much credit will I get for the class and who will be giving the credit?
A: Trinity Evangelical Divinity School gives both undergraduate and graduate credit students 3
semester hours. The College of Biblical Studies (CBS) is currently granting 3 semester
undergraduate credit hours (CBS will soon start granting 3 semester graduate hours). And, Dallas
Theological Seminary (DTS) is currently granting 2 semester graduate credit hours (DTS will start
granting 3 semester graduate credit hours starting in the Fall 1999 Semester.)

Q: Will this credit transfer to other schools?
A: No school, not even Harvard, can guarantee that their credits will transfer. We have had no trouble
with the graduate credits transferring to any other seminary or Biblical institution. For undergraduate
credit, the student should approach the Register of the school to which they hope to transfer the
credits and present the course syllabus. While most Christian schools will accept the credit without
question, secular institutions will probably send the syllabus to the appropriate department for review.
Don't fear, many secular schools have accepted the credit if it is compatible with the requirements the
      student needs to fulfill.

Q: I am not sure I want to take the class for credit, certificate, or audit, can I wait and decide later?
A: Yes. You may add or drop credit up until the beginning of the third class.

Q: Can I just show up and register at the class?
A: Yes. We encourage early registration but sometimes that is not possible. The first two classes are
open registration and we encourage ALL to attend the first two classes since they are FREE sessions.

Q: Why is there a cost for this class?
A: The cost for the classes goes to paying for the speaker expenses (i.e. air fare), speaker honorariums,
credit fees (for those that are taking it for credit), registration application fees, grader fees, and the
general running of the class which would include promotional expenses and administrative expenses.
The US Center for World Mission has to pre-approve the submitted budget before class can begin
and the log of all receipts and disbursements are sent to the Center at the end of the class.

Q: Is there a discount for spouses or other family members?
A: Yes! In Houston, there is a $50.00 discount for each additional family member attending the class.

Q: Does the Perspectives program offer scholarships?
A: No. We encourage members to approach their local mission committees for scholarships. Most
churches have been open to providing partial scholarships for their members. We do allow students
to sign a payment schedule contract if they are unable to pay in full the First night.

Q: If I have paid/taken the Perspectives class before at another location, do I need to pay again?
A: No. Alumni can attend any class nationally for FREE. However, if you wish to upgrade your status
from Audit to Certificate or Credit or from Certificate to Credit, then you will have to pay the
    difference in the two prices.

Q: Will I be allowed to bring visitors to the class?
A: We encourage attendees to bring their family and friends to the class. The first class they attend is
free but for any subsequent class guests attend, they will have to pay $10.00. There are also FREE
sessions at each class that will be announced by the coordinator of that class.
